A painter of the late Joseon Dynasty who was taught paintings by his father. Although he was a military officer, he was talented in poetry, writing and the four gracious plants painting. 

He enjoyed drawing landscape, flowers and birds, flowering plants, a China-ink painting that depicts bamboos and so on.  Especially, he had been well-known by flower paintings.

The delicate depictions and bright colors of Camellia and Plum blossom inspired by the painting style of the Qing Dynasty of China catch your eyes.  

Korean people have loved camellia and plum blossom that symbolize integrity and faith of the scholar. They bloom first in the early spring enduring the cold.
