In this book, the author shares the exotic and familiar mom-and-pop stores of the world he has visited over the past decade in 19 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Turkiye, Mongolia, Nepal, and Indonesia. When the book was published in France, Taiwan, and Japan, the author’s work expanded to include mom-and-pop stores from around the world, as she drew and illustrated mom-and-pop stores in each country. Just as she deliberately visited mom-and-pop stores in Korea, she traveled around the world to find mom-and-pop stores that are the heart and soul of the town.
